We are delighted to announce that Grow Wild have supported us to set up a small seed library at the reception of The Duncairn/174 Trust.

What is a Seed Library?

A seed library is a communal collection of seeds. Gardeners can borrow seeds to plant and enjoy and/or donate seeds for others. By sharing seeds, we increase community resilience, food sovereignty and food accessibility for ourselves and our neighbours. Just like Free Wee Libraries, seed libraries are small corners in the community where people can find free seeds. Members of the community are welcome to share any extra seeds from packets they have purchased, or seeds gathered from plants in their own garden.

How does it work?

You will find the Duncairn Seed Library to the left of the front reception desk as soon as you walk into the building, alongside membership forms, donation forms and check out forms for any seeds you borrow.

We are currently organising a seed saving workshop for October. If you’d like to be first to hear, please join the community garden mailing list by emailing liadain@174trust.org to sign up.
