About the role
Every week, we run nine clubs at The Duncairn for over 100 children, young people and adults living with a disability. Each club gives the people who come a safe, nurturing place to be, and gives their carers some much needed respite.
To help us run the clubs, we're recruiting for two part-time roles, ideally 16 hours a week: Mondays 2.30pm to 7pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 2pm to 6.30pm, and Thursdays 2.30pm to 5pm. If you can work some but not all of these hours, we'd still like to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
Working directly with children, young people and adults with disabilities, supporting their personal development and social education
Building relationships with the people who come to our clubs, so they can take part in and get the most from a programme of positive activities
Helping the Disability Coordinator with personal care for those who need it
Keeping the aims of each programme in mind and helping work towards them
Taking on parts of the club activities, under the direction of your line manager
Helping with admin as needed

The right to work in the UK
Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly with challenging behaviour
A proven track record of working well with people with disabilities
Able to help people on and off the bus, push wheelchairs and use the ramp
